The Devil Wears Prada
The cult classic on stage
Everyone’s favourite fashion-movie masterpiece arrived in the West End last year and continues to dazzle audiences with its fabulous outfits and clever score. From Andy’s naivety to Emily’s ambition to Miranda’s icy stares, all the elements that made The Devil Wears Prada such a hit are brought to life once more in this ravishing romp of a musical.
Always on trend
Familiar beats from the original film drive the story forwards, along with a pop-powered score from Sir Elton John. Georgie Buckland enjoys her West End debut as fashion sceptic Andy, while Amy Di Bartolomeo, who starred in musical comedy SIX, plays eye-rolling lackey Emily. Meanwhile, pop legend Vanessa Williams struts her stuff as icon of intimidation Miranda Priestly.
Fabulous fashion
As you’d expect, there’s a catwalk of incredible costumes and the show is a visual extravaganza. Heels tower, pencil skirts pinch and ballgowns billow, while glitzy sets and clever lighting transport you from Runway’s office to the streets of New York, to Paris Fashion Week. Add a spectacular performance by Williams as the formidable Miranda, and everything is set for a fabulous night of drama, divas and dark comedy.
The beloved film’s West End makeover is fun, full of knowing humour – and packed with Elton John’s irresistible songs.
